10 Reasons Why a Web TV or Radio Show Can Enhance Your Businesses Credibility

Recently I was asked, why have we kept doing our internet radio and Web TV show for so long. The answer is simple, it's a great way to showcase your expertise and at the same time, produce quality marketing elements that can be used for a long time. The fact that we continue to do our internet show speaks volumes about how we feel regarding its effectiveness at producing credibility. It also provides many high ranking factors, including increases in traffic, social engagement, authoritative back-links and a host of other beneficial marketing effects. There are, however, some prerequisites and principles that must be adopted for any type of show to be a success. In this episode of Working the Web to Win, we will discuss these principles and prerequisites so that our readers can understand what is needed to develop their own show, even if it means outsourcing any elements or skills required for success. Creating a quality show is based on knowing and taking care of the audience, and that is where we are going to start.

So what do we mean by "Prerequisites and or Principles." Well, for example, we believe that any marketing endeavor "begins with the end in mind."  Our purpose or objective is to provide what our audience wants! Every audience wants "high quality, relevant, timely, useful, entertaining and authoritative" content, regardless of what media the content is provided in. If its an article, they want excellent and understandable prose with perfect grammar and spelling. If we are talking about a podcast or Web TV show, we are talking about excellent sound and video quality. They want excellent production value without extraneous noise or excursions from the topic at hand. In other words, they don't want commercials, they want "clean content."

When we do our show, we only announce the sponsors at the intro and end of each broadcast. The show itself is for our audience, and we strive to give them the best content we can produce with the time, money, and effort that we have available. Yes, we do talk about subjects we like and care about, but we make sure we have the best facts, figures, and examples available, and that we give everyone attribution if we are using any of their content.

In the past, we have written several articles about producing Web TV and Internet Radio shows. A few we highly recommend include:

These four articles provide the "what, when, where, why, and how" to create Web TV show from a variety of perspectives. Together, along with this article, they will provide the readers with an excellent beginning to their own production.

Now let's look at the "why" a Web TV show can enhance your marketing. First off, you must remember that you can not skip adhering to the principle of "Reciprocity"! The show is for the benefit of the audience. You gain because you are helping them and in turn, they repay you by spreading your good name and patronizing your business. I can quickly think of 10 reasons why a Web TV show enhances your marketing strategy. Here's number one.

Number 1. It Builds Credibility - Everyone likes to learn from the experts. Everyone prefers to listen to and buy from someone who knows what they are doing. NOBODY wants to buy from someone they don't trust! If you're new to an area or you're trying to establish your credibility, there is no better way than to produce a multimedia Web TV show, showcasing your expertise in a fun and entertaining way.
Number 2. Its the Best Fodder for your Social Networks - Web TV shows usually include a script (we use our blogs for ours), have visual and audio elements like images, pictures, podcast, and other videos embedded. This makes your post-full-on multimedia content, which leads to the most often clicked types of post in social media. Most importantly, when someone clicks on your content, they go to your web properties, not someone else's.

Number 3. It Allows you to Build a Library of Recyclable Digital Assets - One of the drawbacks of advertising is that many of the elements you create have a very limited shelf life and run time. If your Web TV shows are based on principles and meet the audiences prerequisites, the usability of this type of marketing is greatly extended. For example - great analog TV shows of the '60s are still watched today, and they are still producing revenue.
Number 4. It Leverages your Time Effort and Money - When you produce a quality show built on principled marketing elements, it creates several standalone marketing products. This means that one weekly effort provides 4 to 10 digital assets. This can include a blog, a live audio broadcast, several live streamed web TV events, recyclable podcast and videocast, website assets, and recyclable social posting assets. One well thought out show creates many recyclable digital assets. These are real assets with a transferable monetary value!
Number 5. It Can be used to Build Your Unique Brand - Your brand is not only your look, feel, logo, and digital personality, but it's also your corporate culture. You can showcase this corporate culture along with your expertise and unique selling proposition as a soft sell during your Web TV show. It's imperative that you don't get carried away by rolling into hard closes or sales pitches. You can include short commercials, but they must be segregated from the show itself.

Number 6. It can Build an Audience beyond Search and Social - If you're providing a high-quality useful production and then distributing the show to a broad audience, your following will grow. Customers, prospects, and other people will begin to connect and follow you. These connections will come primarily from the social networks, but soon, your show will also start to show up in organic Search. This will also produce relationships and a following. Also, nothing prohibits you from advertising the show to build the following as well.
Number 7. Your Show can Creates Web Traffic - Your show can include multiple back-links too many additional web properties. These can consist of, landing/sales pages, e-commerce websites, social networks, video channels, blogs, and more. You can mention and or include live links, or add additional links in the post-production editing. This can increase the effectiveness of any Web TV show so that it produces the maximum traffic possible.
Number 8. It can Create Higher Search Ranking - If your show becomes hit, it will produce social likes, comments, and shares. It will also receive traffic every time a person clicks on the link to see what the show is all about. Web Traffic, social engagement, and positive social popularity are all significant ranking factors. If your show garners any of these actions, its ranking will go up. Garner all of them and it will soar.

Number 9. It's half as Expensive as Analog TV Advertising - If you decide that you're going to showcase your expertise, product or service on the daily analog lunchtime TV infomercial circuit, it will cost you approximately $1000 a show. In most cases, you will have to sign a contract to do a weekly show for six months at a time. Otherwise, there is a significant premium charged for single shows. On the other hand, if you outsource your Web TV to Working the Web to Win, you're monthly out of pocket investment would run between $2,400 and $3,400 depending on the number of live feeds and if you need a co-host or talent. The Analog TV station will provide you with a five-minute segment on their show, (which the TV station owns). Our Web TV production will be 15 to 30 minutes long, and you will own the show!
Number 10. A Web TV show is very Versatile - It can be highly focused or your all in one Showcase. It can Educate, Engage, Build Trust, Sell, and can be used over and over again! If your company, firm or practice has multiple products and or divisions all can be rotated in, expanding the usefulness of the audience and show.

We currently use Web TV shows to introduce new products, processes, services, and to showcase various medical practices, law firms, and industry solutions. Also, we have showcased many businesses and their executive expertise to build their credibility.

I can't think of a better and more cost-effective way to enhance a company's' image than to produce a weekly or bi-weekly internet Web TV or Radio show. A Web show's production value can be increased by scaling up its distribution, live feeds, social connections, and post-production elements. Its shelf life can be expanded by repurposing the content and by repackaging it into organized packages for specific targeted audiences. Best of all, it is a recyclable digital asset that builds real monetary value that enhances the brand of any business.
